To reach out to people around the world who understand the progressive values of life and inspire them to strive for their highest ideals. To offer our best to our customers in a spirit of service and to maintain an exemplary level of integrity in all our dealings.

Our History
Our parent company, Pacific Spirit, was born in 1984, the culmination of many years of commitment to living a spiritual life dedicated to Simple Living and High Thinking. It grew as an extension of our personal interests and a desire to serve, coupled with a need to sustain ourselves by some means of "right livelihood". As our products began to sell we saw a need being filled. We could provide quality products to a market unknown to most retailers. The products we chose made a difference in people's lives. Both in the lives of those who labor to create the products as well as those who receive them. As Pacific Spirit grew we saw a much larger opportunity to share with our customers our concern for the planet, the environment and the future. And you, our customers, have let us know how much that has meant. 

We are committed to making a difference. Along the way we've followed our hearts, giving back in gratitude, knowing we've been blessed.  Paying fair market prices and above to impoverished craftspeople, establishing a women's cooperative, literacy programs and a rural health clinic. We even provided the seed capital needed to establish a local trust based community bank bringing capital and security where none existed.   All of this has helped hundreds of families raise their standard of living in some of the poorest countries in the world.  And, we were doing it before we ever heard the buzz words Fair Trade, Micro-Banking or Socailly Responsible Business.  Your appreciation and purchases made it all possible.

Some of the charities which we support and have, over the years, donated as much as 20% of our profits include: Greenpeace, The Nature Conservancy, Rainforest Action Network, Amnesty International, Friends of Old Growth, The Bhaktivedanta Book Trust, Self Realization Fellowship, Habitat For Humanity, United Farm Workers, The Himalayan Institute, The Prison Project, The Sierra Club, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, The Humane Society and Mercy Corps.

 

Our Vision
On our many journeys around the world, what we've always enjoyed most are the people we've met along the way. Knowing that, in a small way, we have touched hearts and made a difference in each other's lives. That's why these pages are filled with treasures, many of which are made completely by hand. By purchasing these handicrafts, you are supporting the cultural survival of struggling indigenous peoples. You are sending a message to the tiniest village saying, "your art is of great value in this world". Together, we will make a difference and the world will be a better place.
